Flying to Calgary is easy thanks to the Calgary International Airport (YYC) which receives arrivals from all over the world. The airport is located in northeast Calgary, about 20 minutes from downtown in light traffic.
Calgary International Airport is one of Canada’s busiest airports with more than 12 million passengers in 2008. Calgary is no more than one-stop from any major city in the world.
Rental cars, taxis, limousines and airport shuttles are all available to take you to your final destination.
From Airport to Hotel Arts
To get from the Calgary airport to the Hotel Arts, you have three principle choices: rental cars, taxis, and one of the airport-to-downtown bus shuttles. A taxi ride will cost approximately $45, though this may increase during rush hour.
The Calgary Allied Airport Shuttle travels between the downtown and the airport every 30 minutes. The shuttle will also pick up passengers directly from Hotel Arts (but this requires a scheduled booking). A one way ticket will cost $15.
From Hotel Arts to Mount Royal University (for Wednesday’s IT Chairs Meeting)
Free transportation to and from the meeting will be provided. Please gather in the lobby of the Hotel Art no later than 1:15pm to ensure your spot on the bus.
If you miss the free bus, there are other options. A taxi to Mount Royal will cost about $15. You could also take the safe, clean, and very scenic bus ride to Mount Royal. You can catch the No. 13 bus which has a stop on 1st between 10th and 11 ave (about a 2 min walk from hotel). The bus will take about 15-20 minutes.

For Wednesday’s IT Chairs Meeting: Finding the Room
The meeting is in B341, which is one the third floor of the new B-wing. If you are entering via the East Gate, then right after you enter the main East entrance, the B wing is to the immediate right. Walk down that B hallway all the way almost to the end where you will find elevators. Take it to third floor and you will see room B341. If you are driving by car, public parking is available in the parkade to the south of the east entrance.
